Auto Math

This book is a must for anyone who has anything to do with driving or building cars.Speed in gears, tire size MPH etc it's all here. The reason I bought this book is that I wore out my 1st copy...pages falling out from continued use by me and my son. Great Book

Not what I was hoping for.

This would be good for someone wanting to build a hot rod, but not for someone wanting to design a system, from bore and stroke to rear-end ratio, tuned for fuel economy. I was thinking this would link everything into a system that I could then adjust for my own purposes, but, it does not. It's just ways to calculate specific aspects or measurements, but not totally geared to design.
I didn't see anything relating bore and stroke to torque. I found no way to calc backwards from top speed down to engine and gearing requirements. Perhaps for someone more experienced than myself, the linkages could be made, but not for me.

Seems I just need to do my homework and link everything together. Perhaps I'll have a better understanding.
I did find the inclusion of formulas for calculating blood alcohol level sort of....I don't know....maybe it was included for alcohol powered rigs.

Great reference if you are a gearhead

As a gearhead I loved this book. I like doing the match to make sure that what I am planning on paper should work. It's better than try, try, try again method. See, all that math in school does pay off in the end.
