You either like this kind of garden design - or you don't

I purchased this book as reference for contemporary garden design ideas. I love the work of Luciano Giubbilei. I must admit the examples of his designs appear to be more of a 'variations-of-a-theme' rather than a portfolio of different solutions. (Except for the Morocco installation.) The designer's work is inspiring to those who enjoy a 'controlled' garden presentation (rigid, linear, geometric and balanced, clean - almost monochromatic) versus an English Country garden layout. If you LOVE sculpted Boxwoods in geometric forms, limestone, uplighting and water features - with artwork, then you will enjoy this book.

I also purchased my copy from a listed supplier rather than Amazon directly. Saved over $15 on a NEW, wrapped book.

A lovely 'coffee table' book in full color. A lovely display book of fabulous gardens. The script is just so-so. Luciano is a gifted landscape architect. Quite a wonderful tour of beautiful gardens.

Outstanding Book by the late Dr. Robert C. Trojanowicz

During mu undergraduate studies at Michigan State University's School of Criminal Justice, I studied the textbook Community policing. I personally knew Dr. Trojanowicz who preferred to be called only "Bob." He was my friend and mentor so in some respects you may conclude that my review and rating is biased. I assure you this is not the case. During my college years at MSU I was a police officer with the Lansing Police Department. With the help of Dr. Trojanowicz and the endorsement of the Chief of Police, I implemented some of the community policing initiatives contained in this excellent book. The results were excellent. Best opening scene...

Right from the start you see that this heroine can take care of herself. First chapter of this book has Dana Markham kicking ass and not bothering with names.

Dana and her 10 yr old son have been on the run for years from her ex husband who is dirty in many ways. She's learned that she can depend on no one but herself to stay alive as the FBI has fumbled more than once. In the latest attempt by her ex husbands hire killers to kill her and take their son she manages to kill all but one and that one turns out to be an undercover FBI agent who ends up taking responsibility for Dana and her son by going on the run with them.

I didnt realize until about half way into this that I had read this years ago under another name. I take it since the cover and name of the book have changed its a complete reboot. I only say this to those who may have read the first book Dark and Dangerous (which is no longer available). If you haven't read that book then I recommend Dead Run. This was a fairly fast paced read with like I said a very exciting opening and two people who fall in love while on the run with lots of great scenes with her son and their very protective dog.

Great story with a strong female character who is also a mom! It was nice to read a story where you get too know the characters, before they have sex.Sara protects her son ,from his father who wants her dead. Caine is FBI and is assigned to protect her and her.Sara does a good job protecting her son . But it's getting harder to do it alone.

LOVED IT!!! WANT MORE!!!

I was given this book for an honest review... The only thing I did not like was.... I WANTED MORE!! I loved how Dana takes care of herself & her boy. She tried depending on people to help but it didn't seem to work out in her favor. I love how strong she is & how she teaches her son to trust her & be strong. This is a great book that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Love how she takes the bad guys out! But she never tries to claim to be a bad ass..... She is just resourceful!

Please don't give these plagerists more money

Don't buy this book. The information that you are looking for here is available for free. Go to teradata.com/certification, check the objectives for the basics exam, then look up those same topics online. Go to info.teradata.com and read the online documentation. It is more detailed and thorough. Large portions of this book are copied directly from the online documentation, but edited in such a way that you aren't left with the information you need to pass the certification exam.
This book is ridiculously expensive for what it offers - a low quality and incomplete introduction to teradata that will not help you pass the exam, or help you use teradata. This volume is advertizing material for how great the teradata system is, not a guide on how to use it.

Teradata Basics study guide inadequate

This study guide is hopelessly inadequate for the preparation for the exam. The exam requires a level of detail that is not present in the study guide. The exam requires you to know delicate juxtapositions of facts, how Teradata elements interrelate in a matrix format, and very specific details about each element. The exam multiple choice questions present a set of answers that are often so similar to one another, that it is impossible to know if you are wrong or right. I studied for hours a day from the study guide for 2 weeks and still failed. I will need to supplement the study guide with Teradata manuals. The study guide does not give bullet points, and purposely does not present the information in the way in which you need to know it to pass. I am very disappointed that a study guide of this high price is so poorly put together that it does not prepare you. It is clearly done on purpose to make sure that this certification is very hard to obtain. They are dead right when they say in the preface of the book that studying it will not result in a pass.

Good guide..

Haven't taken the exam yet, taking it tomorrow. The last chapter is a bit of mess and refers to both the Unity Product suite and the old components now being replaced/called Unity or the Unified Architecture. Question 6 only has 1 answer, which is it? This chapter is confusing and leads me to believe I could be asked a question that references either Teradata Replication Services Or Unity Data Mover. I expected more given that this is a Teradata approved study guide. If I pass the exam tomorrow, I'll come back and up my review to 4 stars but right now I'm keeping it to 3.

I passed the exam and the study guide turned out to provide significant value so I increased it to 4 stars. As one other poster said, you definitely need practical experience along with the study guide to pass this exam. The exam is no push over.

About the Author
"Mark S. Dorfman." I have taught introductory risk management and insurance classes for over 30 years at the following universities: University of Illinois, Miami University (Ohio), the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the Wirtschaftsuniversitat Wien (The Business and Economics University of Vienna, Austria). I still enjoy teaching; in fact, most days, I love it. I hope readers that have come this far in the preface already realize that I believe teaching risk management and insurance to students is very important. I continue to find my students stimulating, challenging, and friendly people. I always kept students in mind when writing this book, and I hope they find the writing style "user friendly."

I was born in Chicago and attended Chicago public schools. My undergraduate degree is from Northwestern University. The University of Illinois awarded my Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

I have held high offices, and served on boards of directors of several academic and nonacademic institutions and I have written extensively in the major risk management and insurance academic journals. I look forward to spending part of every summer in Door County, Wisconsin.

Short chapters, no filler.

If you're looking for a textbook about insurance with short chapters densely packed with useful information and without a lot of "fat," then this is the book for you. This book made a short summer semester course on insurance manageable.

Mark C. Leake is the chair of biological physics and the director of the Biological Physical Sciences Institute (BPSI) at the University of York. He heads an interdisciplinary research team in the field of single-molecule biophysics using cutting-edge biophotonics and state-of-the-art genetics.
